Question about filling out Job Applications with Independent Contractor background?

Asked by pinkparaluies (1888points) November 27th, 2009

I’ve been working as an Independent Contractor for a few years now. This is basically where you work for another company, but I guess “legally” they didn’t hire you.
I’m filling out a job application at the moment, and am wondering about how I should fill out the work history section. I don’t have any supervisors or anyone that they can contact for references.

How should I go about doing this?

I am assuming then you are self-employed

Alright, got this figured out. No help needed. Thanks so much, though :)

It may be a good idea in the future to ask your clients to write letters of reference to summarize the quality of your work. I have also used references in electronic network settings like LinkedIn.com to have my clients comment on my services. That usually will suffice, and I attach these to the app (see attached).
