What is the best way to drop hints about what I really need for Christmas?

Asked by kayyyyleigh (404points) November 27th, 2009 from iPhone

my parents have been asking me for weeks what I want for Christmas. I know I NEED a new computer cause I haven’t told them I broke mine:/ but I WANT a mac, and they are really expensive. and my dad is talking about getting one for their next computer. I don’t know how to bring it up that I want one and that my old one is broken. especially after we spent five hours today in best buy for about $4000 worth of tv, blue-ray… stuff my dad wanted.
any ideas(:

Cut out an advert with the product you want circled in red marker pen.

The first thing you need to do is let them know your current computer is history.

After that keep talking how easy Apple computers are. :)

Just be like “man, my computers busted! Ugh! I hate PCs, wish I had a mac.”

You need to take a lesson from Ralphie and put the add neatly in your mother’s favorite magazine. ;)

I’ve just thought – you could have just dropped a macbook into the basket at Walmart/Bestbuy/where ever. By the sounds of it, with the amount of stuff your dad bought today, he might not have noticed

I am not sure how old you are but if you are going to College in the next 2 years you may want to mention how a new Mac could be taken with you.

My kids would just say it! Try it. Dropping hints is only good in movies.

Get a piece of paper. Write on it “My Christmas List.” Then below that write the number 1. Next to the number 1 write “A Mac computer, pretty please with sugar on it, I’ll clean my room for a whole month if I get one, and I will share with my sister, and feed the dog whenever you ask me to, I just can’t cope with Internet Exporer or Windows any more and my computer is broken so I need it to do my homework I love you!”

That’s what my daughter does and it often works.

However, do not do what my son does. He sends me an email saying “I want a new compootor Thiz one suks Or I will run away.”
