What happens if you don't pay a BART citation?

i had my bike and exited through the emergency gate and got stopped by BART police.

i thought that was acceptable. whats the citation?
citation for fare evasion. i got a notice to appear or i can apparently avoid that by paying something like a 140$ fine. FML
did you have a ticket, but you just went out through the emergency exit to make it easier because of your bike?
well i had a ticket yes, but i was 2 dollars short so it was only for like 2 dollars and some change. i went from sf to richmond.

Damn! California is even more desperate for cash than I thought!
sounds about right you could dispute it when you get to court but honestly it will cost you more because you would need a lawyer and legal advice it would be cheaper in the long run to just pay the 140 dollars
