I need help getting my ipod to work with my computer, please help?

Asked by applesaucemanny (1775points) December 10th, 2009

Okay so the situation is; I want to hook up my ipod (8gb nano) to my computer (it’s a pc, running windows 2000) but itunes says I need version 7.6 or higher for my ipod to work and that download apparently doesn’t work for my computer so I was wondering if there’s a way so it can work that way, or have some other program that would also work for me thanks in advance :)

Try Songbird, from Mozilla.org or try MediaMonkey. They will both sync with an iPod.

Check on the instructions for your IPod and see what kind of software is recommended. If you’ve downloaded the current version of iTunes, the drivers are there. Try to narrow it down by rebooting, connecting to a different USB port, use a different USB cable.
