What are the best electronic switches?

Asked by will (104points) December 11th, 2009

I am working on a design for a Lightbook and expect it to be powering up and down potentially hundreds of times a day.

I was wondering what to use as switches ― maybe a solid state relay?

RadioShack – you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.
(that’s one of the lamest slogans I’ve ever heard!)

You seem to like it. You have used it as an answer for more than one question.

How many amps are we talking about, and at what voltage? The link to your PDF came up blank, but you would probably want to use a solid state device of some kind. CMOS flip-flop coupled to a power MOSFET. But the kind of device you are trying to build is going to be a single board system, low chip count, SMDs.
