Bigfoot, Yeti, Sasquach, Abominable Snowman, are these one and the same, or different creatures?

Asked by Strauss (23618points) December 11th, 2009

I heard about this report on the radio today. The guy being interviewed said they found footprints 15”-17” long and deep enough to indicate a body weight of about 600 pounds. Do you think these creatures exist, and if so, are they all the same creature?
Also: is it possible that we have not discovered all large life here on Earth?

I know there is a crap-load of life in the deepest parts of the oceans that we have yet to discover.

Bigfoot and Sasquatch are the same. Yeti and the Abominable Snowman are the same.

Funny that you ask, I was just hanging out with them last week. Bigfoot and Sasquach are actually one in the same. Publically, he is known as Sasquach, but his friends all call him Big Foot. Yeti has been spending most of his retirement in the Himalayan Mountains, where he enjoys a laid back lifestyle. Unfortunately, the Abominable Snoman (Old Frankie) passed away 6 years ago next month.

If you want, I could ask them more specific questions next time I see them…

I heard there was this animal that lived at the bottom of the ocean that was half t-rex, half platipus and barked like a dog.

What, no love for the Loch Ness Monster, @Yetanotheruser?

Strauss's avatar

@erichw1504 I love Nessie! I was just asking about the large bipeds in light of the recent sightings mentioned above.

@Yetanotheruser Oh wow, I didn’t even notice the link to the article. And that picture is definitely of a man in a bear suit.

It is possible they are adaptations of a single species, but they live in very different climates. Also, you left out the skunk ape of Florida fame.

Bigfoot = American Hick
Yeti = Himalayan
Sasquach = Canada
Abominable Snowman = Land of Misfit Toys

@Marina Oh, yeah! Good ol’ Stinkpot. Pure oversight, I had heard of that guy.

@jfos Have you talked to Stinkpot the skunk ape lately?

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that’s the problem. It’s not the photographer’s fault. Bigfoot is blurry, and that’s extra scary to me. There’s a large out of focus monster roaming the countryside. Look out, he’s fuzzy, let’s get out of here…

Bigfoot is Sasquatch’s first cousin on his mother’s side. Yeti and Abominable are his great grandparents on his father’s side.

Owlman is the coolest.

I know a guy is weighs 600lbs. Does that mean he might be a Sadquatch? or even a Big Foot? I think he wears a size 22 shoe. Don’t know how deep his footprints cause, I’ll have to follow him during the next snow!

The Big Show is supposedly 500lbs, does he count as a cryptid?

EpicGilgamesh's avatar

Abominable Snowman is another name for Yeti. Yeti, Bigfoot and Sasquatch are all variants of the same cryptid (undiscovered creature). Different variants are distinguished by their geographic location. Bigfoot Lunch Club has an awesome interactive AKA Bigfoot World Map of all the variants!

They’re all the same creature. He actually prefers to be called Larry, but he travels around quite a bit and has picked up a lot of different nicknames.

Nessy is my favorite. I’m confident something is there. Or at least I really really want there to be something there, lol. But I’ve watched so many shows on it and it seems so unlikely. How did it get there, ya know.
