Is there a way to change your user name in the chatroom?

Asked by pouncey (702points) December 12th, 2009

Well I accidentally singed in with my real name instead of my username. I want to use my user name instead but every time i try to sign out and back it it stays the same.

[mod says:] You need to clear your cache. How to do this differs based on the browser you use. If you need help with this, tell me your browser and I can give you further instructions.

I did the same thing pouncey! and I want to change it as well

Under the browser (Safari) I use is a drop-down menu. Click on “empty cache.”

@pouncey – What browser do you use? Such as…Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.

@pouncey

The cache is like your history. Your browser keeps track of where you’ve been and names you’ve used, etc.

These are all temporary filed and can be erased.

@PnL i use safari

@pouncey In that case, follow @gailcalled‘s instructions and see if it works.

jlm11f's avatar

@pouncey Do this:
1. Click on Safari in the upper toolbar and Select Empty Cache.
2. Click Empty on the Are you sure message box.
3. Exit and re-launch the browser.

After this, you will be given the chance of logging in with your username.

@PnL what about if you use firefox?

@kewlguy_exABuser Tools>Clear Recent History>Click on the details dropdown, and make sure only cookies and cache are checked and for time range, choose everything. Restart browser and you should be good to go!
