A touch on what part of your body is the most relaxing to you?

Asked by chesspiece (279points) December 15th, 2009

For me it’s my neck.

I’ve heard other people say the ears or having someone run their fingers through their hair.

What type of touch is most relaxing to you?

well, depending on the person: my back and forehead, head and everything else…

My back.

My back

I think it’s more about WHO is touching me, rather than WHERE I’m being touched. With the right person, just about any kind of touch on any part of my body is relaxing.

Upper shoulders and scalp, mmm

It definitely depends on who is touching me, but I suppose my forehead and back would be the most soothing.
Now go ahead and ask me this again when I’m horny. I’ll probably have a different answer.

For me it’s two. I love it when someone rubs my back. It relaxes me.
The other is my hair. When someone brushes or plays with my hair I become very sleepy.

My neck and shoulders. But that’s only if it’s my husband or one of my kids.

Fingers through my hair.

At first it gives me chills, then it completely relaxes me.

Hand on the back on my neck.

if my hubby plays with my hair or strokes behind my ears, I always fall asleep zzzzzz

Stroking my hair. As noted, it is so relaxing that it makes many of us fall asleep!

If someone else is helping me relax, it’s to have them do just about anything with my hair.

To help myself relax, I massage my ear lobes, and sometimes fold them up into the actual ear canal and press inward. Sounds weird, looks even weirder – I know.

I usually do it when I’m stressed, worried, or deep in thought. It helps me center, and shut out the world. It feels really good if you do it when your ear lobes are cold, like when you first return indoors in the wintertime.

I started doing this when I was a little kid, and have never been able to stop. My Mom used to say that my ears were going to look like Dumbo’s, and guess what? +35 years later they still don’t. Funnily enough, some years ago I learned from a friend who is into accupuncture that there is a pressure point in your ear lobes :P

the only time I try to be aware of my “ear habit” and not do it is if I’m in an important social situation, because it usually freaks people out to see an ear folded up like that, ha ha.

Hair brushing or scalp massage, most definitely.

Back, shoulders, head, these are pretty ubiquitous answers. But has anyone else experienced the bliss when having your feet done? My wife loves it, and while I prefer she scratch my back, one of the best sensations is when she massages the indentation between my ankle and heel. Puts me right out!

I’ve got a lot of tension in my calves and feet (plantar fascitis) so a leg and foot massage is the greatest, especially when the therapist is good, like my buddy Tony. But, my favorite substitute is my husband rubbing my head and playing with my hair.

The base of my skull.

My temples while being cradled in the arms of a nude buxom woman.

Almost any physical contact makes me more nervous and tense. But if I’m in the right mood, scalp massages from my nephews or my best friend are quite relaxing.

Shoulders, scalp.

ItalianPrincess1217's avatar

Head, shoulders, and foot massages :) I’m relaxed just from thinking about all these.

I have to say that I agree with most of you. My ears, back , neck and shoulders are the most sensitive parts of my body . When someone touches me in any one of these places it creates a sensation of ecstasy.
