Is your child/children into "Poke'mon? (trading cards, video games, clothing, bedding)

Asked by NUNYA (3207points) December 16th, 2009

I just can’t believe that Pokemon stuff is still so popular. I don’t see a decline at all. What do you think of Pokemon stuff?

That was so early 2000s. I was into Pokemon in the early 2000s, but so much anymore. I had a ton of cards, I watched the show, my 9th birthday party was Pokemon-themed, etc. Everyone was into it at that time. I didn’t know it was still so popular. I don’t even like any of the new Pokemon. It’s all about 1–151.

@DominicX I was Xmas shopping today and here it is still “top shelf”. I just don’t understand it either. Thanks for you answer!!! :-)

@evil2 I KNOW! HAHAHA! I just don’t get it either. Been popular for far too long! I wish I had all the $$$$$$$$$$$$ I spent on cards and games over the years. OH MY…...No, maybe I don’t even wanna know. Thanks!

My brother was into it when he was about 12 ( which would be in about 2000). He got over that phase after collecting about half the cards. Besides that, I don’t think anybody in my family has really been into it.

I loved Pokemon when I was about 11 or 12; the games, the show, and the cards. It had a bit of a decline in popularity in the USA around 2003 or so until the release of the newest games, Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, in 2007. It’s kept pretty steady popularity since then, even in young adults, probably those who played the earlier games in their youth. You see fan art of it everywhere.

I’m one of those people. I’ve put over 300 hours of gameplay into just one of the 12 Pokemon games I own, and I’m 22… don’t judge me.

@DominicX Lurve for the original pokemon. I hate that there’s a million of them now.

Hey Nunya!!!! How are you doing darlin’? Both of my boys were or are into it. My older one is 23 and was REALLY into it. He gave his entire collection to his friend’s little brother when we outgrew it not realizing that it would still be popular today. My younger one is 12, and he is just starting to get out of it now.

I know I used to love Pokémon. 150 of them there was…oh how the times have changed… the gameboy game was the best! Nostalgia shivers

I don’t qualify as a child anymore but I am still one at heart, but I am still into pokemon. I used to collect the cards, but I stopped that in grade school. I think that you would be surprised to know that many of my friends share my interest in pokemon, enough so that we had a competition as to who could beat all of the games fastest. I won.
The replay value of the games is so high, and I still think that the games are fun to play. Whenever I have a long plane ride, I take out my gameboy and play pokemon.
