What is your carbon footprint? Does it matter?

Asked by jackm (6212points) December 16th, 2009

Use this website and calculate it for you individually. (Try to be honest answering the questions, no one will judge you) Mine is 12. The US average is 27 and the world average is 5.5

Do you care about these things? Is it just a marketing ploy to get you to donate? How does it make you feel? Do you think people will care about this in 20 years?

Mine is 54 tons per year which is ½ of the average 110 tons for a family of 4.

I’d like my carbon footprint to be on Al Gore’s a$$ ;)

13. I think not driving much helped balance out the giant house and big family. I know some people commute a lot.

Mine is 15. Higher than I thought it’d be, I don’t have a car and live a pretty “green” lifestyle. I guess I should compost… it’d be easier if I had a backyard.

I don’t care enough to take the test. Life is too short to worry about this sort of junk.

20. And in twenty years will probably be too busy treading water from all the ice that has melted to really care.

i have no idea what my footprint is, but im sure its less than all the big business in china and usa. i have no intention of trying to clean up after 2 billion untidy ’‘house mates’’.

Okay…okay…I went and checked out my carbon footprint. Not real impressed with what I saw. It was about a size 8–½ and just black…you know…like carbon.

17, mostly because I don’t drive.

Ours (family of 4, 3/1 house) is 39, the average US household being 110. However, they did not let me include one vehicle, which would change that score.

I’d like to add that I don’t believe in this global warming BULLSHIT for a single minute. Forget the frenzy-inducing headlines. Forget that Al (my monthly carbon footprint is bigger than you annual one any old day) Gore has us barreling down the expressway destined for a fiery crash. He has every reason in the world to encourage us to believe our situation is absolutely DIRE.

Are you aware he started a little company called Hara? Well, he sure did. And you’ll never GUESS what they do.

Does anyone NOT see a glaring conflict of interest here?

Ever hear of the Trilateral Commission?

Ever heard of the Biderberg group?

Since there are so many brilliant people on this site, and I am sincere when I use the word brilliant, I didn’t bother insulting your intelliegence by picking and choosing specific websites. I know all too well that I could be accused of furthing my agenda, so I simply did the search and will let you guys pick and choose what YOU want to read.

This global warming is a trillion dollar SCAM just for the US alone. That doens’t include every other country on the globe. I DO believe we should be responsible for our byproducts. We compost our waste, we’ve made our home energy efficient, and I unplug most electrical appliances after I’ve finished using them – but it isn’t because of global warming. It’s because I don’t relish the idea of paying the electric company one more red cent than they deserve.
