Very well. Much better than an office job or any other factory job I can think of. You would be very lucky to get hired by them. Your hiring would probably depend on other experience, though. They like to have people who have experience in other factory work, with a good job reference. I doubt you could go from high school to working for any of them. I could, easily, if I were willing to move to where their plants are. But, I am pretty well fixed where I am. If I were a young man with no attachments, I would get my application in immediately.

Figure at least $20 an hour to start. But, you must also consider the cost of living where the plant is located. Rent, etc. is based on what the renters know you make. You may pay a great deal for a dump in a lousy neighborhood. (been there, done that) “Alles ist relativ“__Wolfgang von Goethe

Depends on if it’s union or non-union. Toyota and Honda are non-union, Ford is union. Job satisfaction seems to be higher for people working at non-union plants. According to simplyhired.com, the average salary for a line worker at Ford is $28,000 per year, at Honda it’s $38,000 per year.

Wow I want to thank those who passed on some of their wisdom. I just got past the physical part of the test with Toyota. Now I wait till Jan for the results.
