Social Question

The TeaBaggers will be organizing a day long boycott to protest Corporate Socialism. Will you be joining them?

Asked by Rude_Bear (882points) December 24th, 2009

The Teabaggers will be staging a protest against, well, pretty much anyone who doesn’t share their views, on January 20th. What do these people hope to achieve? Do they think their persistent whining is winning them any favor? Will you be participating? Isn’t a “Socialist Corporation” an oxymoron?? http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/12/tea-partiers-next-target-american-business.php

Teabaggers..hahahahahahhahaha

I might show up to laugh at them… except that that means actually paying attention to them and possibly netting them some sympathizers…

On second thought, I think I’ll just stay home

doesn’t tea bagging involve an act using a mans’ scrotal sac and another person’s face? They allow that sort of shit in public? Wow, I guess America has become an immoral cesspool just like Billy Graham and Oral (hee hee, I said oral) Roberts predicted.

Where were these people when Bush was cutting taxes for the top 10% while spending buckets?

Oh, Bush was white.

Rude_Bear's avatar

@jerv I don’t know if there is a place to show up… If they’re boycotting corporate America, I guess they just won’t be at the mall. Might be a good day to go shopping. @camouflage_pants despite many TeaBaggers claiming otherwise, they themselves came up with the name….

Talimze's avatar

Given my very mature and witty sense of humor, I would normally be inclined to refer to those people as “Tea faggers,” but I guess their own name is funny enough.
Of course, I would not be caught dead with those people. As for what their goals are, I don’t think they even know that.

camouflage_pants's avatar

@Rude_Bear so how many TeaBaggers do you think will end up in a men’s room during the protest, looking for anonymous gay sex?

Rude_Bear's avatar

@camouflage_pants I wouldn’t venture a guess.

I tend to avoid large crowds of annoying/stupid/ignorant/irrational (your choice) people.

@proXXi it’s nice to see that both the Left and the Right are equally ludicrous. I am just going to sit here in the Center and laugh my Moderate ass off at both of you :D

proXXi's avatar

Ahh, centrists…

Standing in the middle and standing for nothing…

You’re above conviction, bully for you.

Taking risks, why would you do that?

If you’re so obsessed with balance why are you mocking my issue with such a grossly one sided “question”?

rangerr's avatar

The internet: It’s serious business.

jerv's avatar

@proXXi Yeah, I forgot that the Constitution of the United States and the principles upon which it was written (including the Magna Carta) are nothing. Mea culpa for thinking that our forefathers or their wishes meant a damn thing.

proXXi's avatar

How is your fenceriding particularly ‘standing’ for The Constitution or Magna Carta?

I’d submit that preserving the original intent of The Constitution is conservative, by definition.

Also, you didn’t answer my question.

camouflage_pants's avatar

hmm, someone has a chip on their shoulder.

proXXi's avatar

No chip.

I’d just like to see moderation reduced if it can’t be applied with greater parity.

Rude_Bear's avatar

@proXXi They started calling themselves teabaggers before anyone else. http://arizona.typepad.com/blog/2009/10/tea-party-tempertantrum.html

and the total irony is this: they have nothing to do with the Boston Tea Party. The Boston Tea Party was protesting taxation without representation. In this case, they have representation (the vote) but lost the election. And as for being a total rant: Is anything that you don’t agree with a rant? Legitimate question bub. Enjoy.

@proXXi The same way your political extremism is helping. Did you know that it is possible to go too far? To overdo something? I would like you to cite how the Constitution is Conservative by definition. It seems to me that if there is any truth to that then the Conservative movement has done a 180 since our country was founded!
Then again, the 21st century is all about black/white, us/them, either/or thinking. Alternative and grey areas are inherently evil, unpatriotic, and immoral.

BTW – Where did you get the idea that I was above conviction and stood for nothing? That tells me that reality, facts, and truth (things I do stand for) mean nothing to you and therefore it can be inferred that you stand against those things but I am a little more concerned with issues other than your thought processes so I won’t bother going too deeply into that or waste too much effort trying to confirm that little theory.

However, if you want to take a break from trying to denigrate me long enough to actually say something intelligent, I would like your views on this question

No, I’ll save time by doing something infinitely more productive, such as; getting a Brazilian wax on my armpits or burning off my testicles with a red-hot soldering iron or sorting a used Q-Tip collection with my teeth.

Come on children…all your dolls are pretty, so let’s all have some more tea. Later, we can finger paint and then have a little nappy-poo.

proXXi's avatar

@jerv How can a charge of political extremism have any meaning when coming from a centrist?

Talimze's avatar

@Fluthermucker Nobody cares that you’re being condescending lol
