What is an intellectual snob?

Have heard that term many times, but never really stop to give it much thought.
Anyone here have any idea what that term means?

Beats the shit out of me. I’m just regular folk.
I would assume it’s someone who has attained a somewhat higher level of knowledge compared to your average person and shows it off without shame. Sure it’s a great thing to be well-versed in many subjects, but to use it as means to insult others isn’t what I would assume it’s supposed to be used for.
With that said, i myself am just a normal potato :P
Well, a snob is someone who is condescending and arrogant, so I’m guessing an intellectual snob is someone who believes themselves to be superior intelligence-wise and is condescending towards others because of it.

This kid I used to work with…He was a walking brain. No sense of humor whatsoever…I couldn’t even JOKE at him without him correcting me.
I said joke AT him, because he was impossible to joke WITH!
There is a joke that an intellectual snob is a person who can listen to the William Tell Overture and NOT think of the Lone Ranger.
What it is, in my opinion, is someone who thinks their lofty notions actually “lift” them above other people.

An intellectual snob is someone who is thoroughly impressed with him or herself and has no problem trying to convince everyone within earshot…. not knowing how dumb they really look.

I think intellectual snobs are people who would rather hoard information than share it constructively.

@gretchenpadams most of the time I just turned a deaf ear. But, it just got to the point, along with a host of other problems, that it was time for him to leave. Why I didn’t see it earlier, who knows. Please note that is not what I am telling you to do. Each situation is different.
