How do you work the double tap zoom in and out feature on the Safari application on the iPod touch?

I have trouble zooming in on specific locations and i also have trouble zooming out someone tell me what I have to do

there is two different ways you can zooms in and out in safari. You caneither pinch in or out like you do for photos or you can double tap on any where there is text on a web page to zoom int the text and make in fill up the page. Double tap on a blank area or outside text to zoom out.
