Have you seen the movie Avatar in 3D, or regular? What did you think?

Asked by stevenb (3836points) December 31st, 2009 from iPhone

I have seen it and was blown away with how well they did on all of the effects. Very beautiful and seemless. What’s next I wonder?

3D and it was awesome, I wanna go see it again. Can’t wait for the next ones. Cameron said its a Trilogy.

Effects were superb in 3D. The difference was seamless between live action, CG, and animation. The story was spellbinding. A perfect parable for our time, depicting the military industrial complex vs ecology, primitive culture, and anything else that stands in the way of profit.

I want to see it in 3D, but i cant because of my eyes, so i saw the regular one. It was good, but they could have edited it more to make it shorter.

I watched “Avatar” in 3D; it had been a long time since I’ve watched a “3D” movie in three-dimensions. The glasses made me feel as if I was on the ground with the characters following behind their every step. This was the most immersive film experience I’ve had in a long time. The bioluminescence of the environs gave the sensation of being under the ocean, but in reality the world around was a vast and dangerous jungle. My only quibble with this experience was that the “letterbox” frame the film was playing in broke the illusion when objects would get cut off. It would’ve been better to watch it on rounded screen so that the film enveloped me and I could experience things to my left and right. Overall, it was a solid experience and recommend it to everyone.

3D. I was amazed by the whole package.

I’m bummed that we didn’t see it in imax 3D, while we were on the 5-minute drive there, my housemate’s girlfriend called and said that it was sold out. I’ve never seen an imax film, I don’t know how much more impressive it is than standard 3D. I’m guessing it’s a lot better.

@Sarcasm IMAX is great, but if it’s even close to being sold out, I wouldn’t bother. Sitting close to the screen actually ruins it, because you miss a lot. Last movie I saw was Transformers 2 in IMAX, and we had to separate our group just so we could actually enjoy the movie. Otherwise, we all would have been in the front rows and it would have been crappy.

I went to see it one night, but then I found out it wasn’t in 3D so I left and saw it the next day. 3D was awesome; that whole movie was incredible. IMAX would have been cool to see; the only IMAX movie I’ve seen was a film about the Nile, and it was pretty sweet.

I saw it in 3D and the effects were amazing! It has definitely changed my view on 3D films. I thought the story was so so.

i saw it on 3D and then i Saw it on 3D in an Imax theater, which has a screen about 4 times the size of your average screen. it was quite an experience.

3D. I was very impressed and quite enjoyed myself. I especially loved the plants that light up when you step on them. I want one!

it was blue cheese, i guess you love it or hate it, i like blue cheese so yeah, it was an epic. Theatre is theatre, film is film so it’s potential should be explored to the limit. The storyline is pointless now, too little too late, where was Cameron when Hollywood was churning out Westerns like a Gatling gun, finishing off the remnants of Native American culture, with ridiculous depictions of wholesome homesteader folk gloriously slaughtering insanely savage Americans Indians?

I’m going to see it in 3D on Wednesday next week (next year) so am REALLY looking forward to it.!!
Looks brill!
the review I saw of it was impressive and the CGI looks fandabbydozi!
