Why does my siamese do this?

Asked by lovemypits86 (564points) January 1st, 2010

i have 2 siamese and one of them is like having a new born very needy and wants to be with me and my husband 24/7 and at night he crawls on my husbands pillow when he’s home and just sits there for a very long time every night licking my husbands head and it’s the weirdest thing. any thoughts on what it means or is my cat just a freak?

He’s merely being a cat. Feline behavior encompasses a wide array of affection shown, you merely have a very affectionate cat. Siamese are known for being very attached to their people.

If this is a change in behavior, has something changed in his environment?

By licking your husbands head, he is grooming him the same way that cats groom each other and how the Mommy cat groomed him when he was a kitten. He’s just taking good care of his family.

Siamese are known for being obsessively attached to their people. Some find this charming, others find it annoying.

It won’t significantly change. That’s his particular personality and normal for him. That’s just the way Meezers are.

Siamese cats tend to favor one person over the rest and it sounds like yours has favored hubby. This is noramal and will be like this his whole life. Most cats favor one person I believe.
