Anyone familiar with video editing .mov files on PC?

Asked by pallen123 (1519points) January 9th, 2010

I recently bought a Kodak zi8 and it does 1080p capture and outputs a .mov file. I’m trying to do chroma key and I’m not sure Ulead is up to the task. Can anyone give me some advice regarding best video editing software to use for this soft of thing?
Thanks!

Im not sure what Ulead is, but if youre going to be editing a lot of videos, a good program would be Apple’s Motion 4. Another would be Adobe After Effects. I prefer Motion. Though, I dont know the prices of either program.

Try Adobe Premiere Elements 8…I believe it supports 1080p .mov natively, but you need a PC with a dual-core processor in order to do the processing. Adobe’s website describes the system requirements.

AVID is the best video editing software for the PC. It’s pretty expensive though to get the full version but if you’re a student you can get AVID Xpress for i think it’s like 280 or something like that. Below that though i would say definately look at adobe suite stuff, any of the parts of it. It’s a very good consumer product. not sure of the price though on the adobe stuff
