Can you block anyone who is not in your contacts list from calling you on a Verizon cell phone?

Asked by anon30 (334points) January 14th, 2010

That you can set your phone to only people on your contacts can call you?
and if other people call thats not in your contacts, can only leave voice messages?
but when I call. it rings, and then it’ll go to voice message,
so i’m confused, can you really do this?

The Verizon Wireless support web site sez…

“How can I block a restricted number from calling me?

Sorry, we do not offer this service at this time.”

Nothing about controlling contact list only ringing your phone.

Hm.
weird.
but when i call her phone with my my number
it’ll ring 2 times. (most of the time)
then it’ll ring the 5 time’s it’ll usually do.

but most of the time it’ll ring 2 times then VM
and @ the same time I would call it using the fake caller id website
and use her house phone, and it’ll ring fully

BUT. I used the fake caller i.d website and just made up a random number
while we was on the phone, and it’ ringed.

so i’m really confussed at this point

anon30's avatar

and she DID answer yesterday but hung up. i think she lying.
but i don’t know cause when it rings…..... 2 times then VM….

anon30's avatar

could she be forwarding the calls at the same point to make me think that it’s true?
it doesn’t exactly go to vm at the same point and i thought that’s how you could tell.

willbrawn's avatar

Maybe she doesn’t like you. You can’t do that with phone numbers.

anon30's avatar

Well? so she has to be forwarding my phone calls then?

anon30's avatar

Yup i just called verizon myself, and the lady said that she never heard of that.
and i ask her is it possible to block something like Yahoo text feature from texting your from, and she said she never heard of it ether.

anon30's avatar

Ok i am confuzzed
I found out you can, someone on Yahoo answers
posted his question and you can set it as only your contacts
can call you

but when i was on the phone with her, i used faker caller id
and it ringed and she picked up the phone telling me to hold on.
so WTF?

willbrawn's avatar

You can’t drop it. Annoying.

Are you stalking this girl? Maybe you should take a break from her for a while.
