I need to convert an mp4 video file to be playable on an iPod, but all converters I've tried don't work.

Have you tried HandBrake yet? It’s always worked for me.

doesn’t Handbrake only convert DVDs instead of actual movie files?

Personally, I’ve always had luck with SUPER , though AVS Video Converter might work too.

iTunes will convert mp4 to use with iPod. The converter is in the advanced header in the menu bar.

Google any video converter, it works for me, and converts pretty much every video format out there.

@Theotherkid I believe the more recent version of handbrake is now able to convert video files as well, not just DVD.

@Theotherkid For mac anyway, handbrake has been converting video files for a fair while now.

Indeed it does! I just updated my copy of Handbrake and the video seems to be converting properly now. Thanks!

New iTunes won’t convert videos :(... Handbrake works well, so does the online client mediaconverter.org and media-convert.com

@jdogg I converted a video in iTunes only last week, the newest version is doing it just fine.

really? Mine doesn’t have the option too! I left clicked the video (not from itunes) and there was no option to convert to mp4 or mov. How did you do it?

Once it’s in iTunes right click and select convert.
