Can you think of a better title for this book (see details)?

Asked by Spinel (3220points) January 16th, 2010

Thanks for the feedback. Now I wish to take this a step further: can you think of a more impacting title than QuickSilver? That I can suggest to her?

The Silver’s Way or Silvery Edge were floating around in my head, but again, I want to hear outside suggestions and ideas on this.

NOTICE: For those out there who might be outraged by the rehashing of this subject; I am well aware that this could be moderated on the ground of being a repeat, but this question is another step in solving the title issue. Keep in mind that I am seeking helpful title suggestions or ideas here, not the rebukes of self-appointed moderators. In other words, if you don’t like the question, move on.

Silver’s Edge. Just throwing another title out there.

The Silver Line, Argents Way. to me this one sounds cheesy but idk the first thing about romance novels (dramatic or otherwise) ArgentiAmour – basically silver love.

Does Silver have to be in the title? To me, it would sound better without it. I like Motherlode – (a principal vein or zone of veins of gold or silver ore.)

You might also try the name of a silver mining town as the book title.
You could use real town names such as Leadville, Georgetown, or Fredericktown. Or, you could create your own fictional town name.

True Silver, Silver’s Time, Veins of Silver.

Without really knowing the plot, I can only suggest:

Now a Silver Man

from “Nature also forges man, now a gold man, now a silver man, now a fig man, now a bean man.” – Paracelsus

Not the Only Coin

from “Silver and gold are not the only coin; virtue too passes current all over the world.” – Euripides

The SIlver Stream

from “To ancient Chinese fancy, the Milky Way was a luminous river, – the River of Heaven, – the Silver Stream.” -Lafcadio Hearn

Just for a Handful of Silver

from ” Just for a handful of silver he left us, Just for a riband to stick in his coat.” – Browning, Robert

I can’t find a plot summary for your book. Can you PM me with it?

I really like @jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities suggestion. I think that using the word “silver” in the title sounds too obvious.

Mercury meltdown (mercury=quicksilver), mercury mist, silver stream, silver lining, quicksilver lining, quicksilver tears, that’s all the random things about silver I can think of… Hope I helped

Inspired by @jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities‘s answer:

How about Searching in Vein?

I think it definitely shows the mining element, at the same time being a nice play on words. I’m assuming that her book is about a search for something, cause most novels are.

Can’t you even reveal which genre it’s in? Horror? Romance? Psychological thriller?
