DHEA is a naturally occuring substance in the body (like Melatonin) that the body uses to make testosterone. I’ve used it before, and I believe it helped me make gains in muscle. I also took BCAAs along with it so I don’t know if DHEA alone was the secret to my success.

DHEA can benefit a middle aged guy as it is a precursor to testosterone. It is often used in conjunction with TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) . Two great podcasts I’d like to recommend you hear that deal with DHEA. 1.
