What was the last romantic thing/gesture you were involved with?

Asked by Facade (22937points) January 18th, 2010

With everything that is going on these days, times are stressful, and relationships sometimes suffer.

Done anything romantic lately?
Has someone done something romantic for you?

If not, go make it happen =)

About a week ago, my boyfriend and I went on a snowy hike to a perfect place to look at stars. For a while, we laid in the snow talking and staring at the sky. After waiting long enough that I was sure it wasn’t going to happen, he rolled over and proposed.

We made beautiful love, not just plain’ol sex. The kind that you feel like you are the same person, everything is heightened. Everything feels perfect and that you could simply stay like that forever, entangled in one another. It was amazing. <3 I love him xx

I asked someone out to a Gwar concert. She said she’ll “think about it”.

We swam together. I’m really quite frightened of water, but it wasn’t too bad.

I bought my wife an excersize bike. (and made her pay for it) That’s romantic is’nt it?

chyna's avatar

@scotsbloke The fact that you are still married after that boggles the mind. :)

I wrote a small poem a day for the entire month of February 2009 for the person I love. Every day was about him/us and the love between. A few months ago, I printed them all and gave them to him.

Today is my wife’s birthday and I surprised her with a dozen roses and a nice card with a birthday dinner to follow this evening. She seemed to equate that with romance and so did I. =)

@chyna – well we laughed about it (after my swollen eye went down)

We laugh a lot together, THAT can be romantic.

My boyfriend put together a laylist of songs that remind him of me and their were wo songs especially that mean a lot to me. The fact that he remembered those songs and likes them enough himself to put on a playlist proves to me that a: he does pay attention (!) and b: he’s more romantic than he thinks.

I promised myself I would do something romantic for myself this Valentine’s Day

An Hour ago! Just got home after going to the Grooming Salon and making the Wife and her friends some Chocolate Covered Bananas!

I guess I’ll answer my own question.. My man and I slow-danced in the aisle of a grocery store last week. And I let him have the last cupcake last night =)

phil196662's avatar

Awwwwwwww… @Facade – I thought I was the only one that does things like that!

This happened quite sometime ago. I was walking down the street with a gentleman and he bought me flowers. This same gentleman, with no provocation, got up, walked over to me, took me in his arms, and man oh man….......the kiss I received left me weak at the knees. That is something I will never forget.

Yesterday evening, my wife was feeling worn down by all the stress in her life and it showed. I kissed and held her like she was the most special woman in the world. To me she is.

Last night my partner sang to me “Somebody” by Depeche Mode, it’s a song we both count in our favorites :D This afternoon he blew me a kiss as I headed out the door to work.

It wasn’t romantic in the traditional sense of romance. This was another form of love, but a guy friend of mine knows how stressed out I’ve been lately because of school, grad applications, boy problems, etc. So he played me a song he wrote for me. =) It’s all about how he’s happy when I’m happy.

just a simple kiss on the cheek every once in a while

We stayed overnight at a hotel in a small mountain community in the back country on our way to a family funeral, and Hubby and I went out for a walk to see the amazing stars with no lights to wash them out.

I tired to do a few things. But they all fell through.

Someone was a bit rude and this guy friend stood by me, defended me the whole time.
I told him I appreciate it so much but he does not know it was more than that.
