I wonder if there will ever be cures for auto-immune conditions?

I have an auto-immune condition called Pernicious Anemia,where the body attacks itself. In its case the “cure” is a regular injection of vitamin B12 which is done in the muscle for slow release.
If I didnt get these injections I would get very ill or even die.
I know there are lots more auto-immune conditions out there and was wondering if any real cures for these will ever be found? For a cure you need to find a cause and I dont even know if anyone really knows what prompts the human body to attack itself?
