How can I find a friend by her married name?

Asked by mollypop51797 (1430points) January 22nd, 2010

Not to get into a big story about my days in high school, which I am guessing you probably don’t care about, but how can I find a friend by her married name? It’s a long story why I’m asking this, but just wondering if there are any places where I can find people’s married names by their maiden names? Usually, it’s the other way around, with the reversed question, how can I find people by their maiden names. In any case, is there a possible chance that I’ll be able to find her without too much hassle, or should I just keep my hopes up and keep looking?

This is a very confusingly worded question. I’m assuming that
a) you know her maiden name,
b) you know her husband’s first and last name
c) you have an approximate idea of where she lives
d) you know how old she is.

One way you could look is to google her name and where her parents lived. If either of her parents has died, and the obituary is online, she would be listed. Another would be to use a service like intelius.com. Or you could look on facebook under your high school and see if she’s on there. I graduated in the 1970’s and 30% of my graduating class is on Facebook.

Try Facebook. I’ve found so many people there. I’m listed on Facebook with my married name, but have it set up so that people searching for me by my maiden name can find me too. Perhaps you’ll get lucky! :) Good luck.

You could also try classmates.com.

Sometimes you can find people if you just google them.

411.com, searchbug.com, crimetime.com, these are free public record sites. im a bill collectoer and when my emloyer decides to punish the office by taking away our access to public and none public info about our debtors i have to be creative and use these site to find family members or even old neighbors and manipulate them into give me clues to a persons location. for example if a old neighbor says that last thing he can remeber is the debtor saying they were gonna live with thier brother in montana till they get on their feet, depending on how common the name of the debtor is will determine if i need these sites or if i just call 411 and ask for a person seacrh, their gonna use the same sites but they hace i little more access then we do. the questions you ask neighbors and relatives should be well thought out and mindful of coming off too pushy or secretive. bill collectors use a software called ” acurrint” it gives you everything about a person from social to mortgage payment,or you can pay a bill collector to do a skiptrace for your freind..

In the Ancestry site, people are often listed by their maiden name and their married name is then shown separately. You could consider asking her parents or other family members.

Pipl.com is about the best resource for this sort of thing. Use the name search first and use her maiden name in the last name field. Fill in the state and city fields to correspond with the last known location in which she spent six months or longer. If you know of any such place where you can be reasonably certain she was financially independent for an extended period of time, you will likely get results that you recognize as hers (i.e any place where you know she maintained a home or apartment or any financial responsibilities that would generate bills, such as rental or mortgage payments, utilities, etc.). Pick through the results and run down any promising leads. Next, if you have an old email address, run that through Pipls email search and see if it brings you to any social accounts that may have been hers. If you don’t have an email address but know where she went to college, go to the university website and see if they have an alumni look up. Most do. If you can find her college email account, it’ll give you another avenue to run down. in fact, it may just put you in direct contact with her, since even though most people stop using their collegiate email accounts after awhile, most remain active and many people have set them up to foward to their private email addresses. So sending a note to her old university email might just have the effect of getting a message into her current email accounts in box. Hope that helps. cheers.

All the ways desrcribed above can work. And if you won’t find anyway and are ready to pay you can use this site : email search.
I’ve used it once, and it’ s very affordable and effective.

Good luck
