How do I have my own radio station?

Asked by Kokoro (1424points) February 2nd, 2010

I’m not interested in an internet radio station, only one I can hear in my city through the FM. However, I do not know who to contact or where to start. Help?

You might want to start by contacting the FCC

Are you in the USA? If so re-read @Ansible1 ‘s answer. It take a lot of money, not millions but thousands to start a low output FM station.

Thanks. How about having my own hour on an already existing radio station?

Most local stations will let you. Talk to the programming manager / station manager for a one hour time block but you will have to buy the “Air time” and go through a briefing for FCC requirements.
