Are flavors other than plain glazed available hot at Krispy Kreme?

Asked by Snarp (11272points) February 3rd, 2010

Krispy Kreme hot donuts. The ultimate donut experience. Hot. Sweet. Soft. Practically melt in your mouth. But I’ve only ever seen plain glazed. Do stores ever have other flavors available hot? At least chocolate, or the unfathomably fantastic notion of a hot Boston Cream? If not does this mean that only the glazed are made in the local store and the others are trucked in from elsewhere?

Only if you happen to get there when they finish baking one.

How difficult is it to heat up a damn donut?

@Snarp you make me hungry.
The rest of you don’t love donuts?

@cheebdragon It’s not heated up, it’s freshly made and hasn’t cooled down yet. This is very different.

@marinelife Do you know this? Have you seen other flavors offered hot?

They all go through the same baking process, so others are served hot…they just promote the glazed more. You have to get there when they bake the others, but they tend to do all that very early.

You have to go into a krispy kreme store to get other flavors, and they are ALL warm when you purchase them because they use heated display racks….

I think I gained weight just reading the question ;)

@cheebdragon No, they’re not all hot. Hot donuts are special. Krispy Kreme stores turn the hot donut sign on and off. When it is on, fresh hot donuts are rolling off the line and available for purchase. You order them specifically at the counter, and they are not the same as those kept warm on display. The only place you get hot donuts is at the Krispy Kreme store, of any flavor.

I have no Krispy Kream, and no prospects!

@casheroo Thanks for the info. Now if only I still lived in Krispy Kreme territory. Alas there are no hot donuts anywhere near me.

@wilma Same here. We had one but it went out of business.

Yes. The cinnamon rolls are also available hot.

…not that I’ve ever seen, and I keep a sharp eye on that sign.
