Is there anywhere online I can read the 'Richard III' synopsis for free?

Is it illegal or not because I need it but don’t have the play on me.

Shakespeare is in the public domain. That means no one owns it. There are many sites where you can download the whole play for free.

www.sparknotes.com is a good site for lit. crit. and synopses.

You might consider renting the dvd of Al Pacino’s, ‘Searching for Richard’. This is from the jacket cover: “Richard III, Shakespeare’s gripping drama of power, lust and betrayal, becomes accessible to a broader audience in this critically-acclaimed film.” It’s brilliant and original and if I were still teaching, I’d require any class I assigned to read the play to watch this film first.

@Dracool Isn’t it “Looking for Richard”?

It doesn’t take very long just to read the play itself, which is easily found online.

Thanks for your help but I’ve searched it a million times and still find it anywhere. If anyone could find a direct link to it that would be really, really helpful. Thanks.

What search terms are you using? I would love to know what you searched on that managed to miss finding all the links out there.

Did you try Wikipedia?

Here’s the play itself.

-@janbb ‘Tis, and thanks for pointing it out! I’ve been thinking about titles for a short story and was considering ‘Searching for Gregory Peck’. It doesn’t take much to confuse me:)
