Does anyone remember the "scary" late night Detroit commercial?

Asked by valdasta (2146points) February 6th, 2010

I am writing a memoir for my sister as a gift. I am trying to remember the commercial that would come on late at night in Detroit (can’t remember if it was abc, nbc, cbs, 20, or 50.

Anyway, it starts with the back of someone’s head that is slowly turning to face you as someone says, “roses are red…” Then, when the face comes to view, it is a skull.

Anyone remember this? What channel was it on? How does the peom end? Better yet, does anyone have a link to the actual clip?

I don’t know about that commercial valdasta, but I know what you mean about scary commercials. When I was a kid, there was a late night commercial on t.v. about blood donation to Red Cross. It was a black and white commercial, and featured a creepy guy made up and dressed as Dracula chasing people for their blood at a park. For a little 6 year-old kid, it was scary and nightmarish, and I used to run and hide when it came on. It left me unable to sleep at night. Sigh!
