If I need to wear my glasses all the time but I will only wear them when I watch movies, will I eventually go blind?

I went to the eye doctor the other day and he said I need to wear my new glasses everyday until I go to bed. I only wear them when I watch movies, and my eyesight has been getting a little worse each day. Will I eventually go blind for life if I continue this?
