I’ve grown out of making it a point to seduce boys/men – I’ve grown out of drinking and vomiting – I’ve grown out of drama between friends – I’ve grown out of caring what my choreographer thinks of my weight – I’ve grown out of a lot but I have kept who I was always at my core – someone that doesn’t get why things are done certain ways and doesn’t understand why they can’t be done another way if necessary.

Not taking responsibility?

Drinking and smoking cigars. So glad I grew out of that. I treat my body like a temple now, no more abuse like that.

I’ve evolved from watching silly cartoons to making silly cartoons. Yay, art school.

I’ll never grow out of my childhood entertainment. Mud throwing, rolling down hills, watching Sailor Moon, Gargoyles and Duck Tales. I hope I never grow out of the happy things.

But I have, thankfully, grown out of irrational hate and the need for people to conform to what I think is right. When I was a teenager, I didn’t quite understand things I saw as ‘stupidity’. Particularly on controversial subjects, like people who do not support gay marriage. I’ve learned to accept people for who they choose to be and what they choose to believe in. Even if it is directly against my own philosophy. Living by example, and not trying to force an epiphany in the other side is the best lesson I learned as a teenager.

For example, at work I recently learned that a coworker of mine is a Creationist. Something that is completely against my understanding of the world as a student working towards a degree in Anthropology. Instead of a fight, which would have been much more like 15 year old me, it ended with me recommending a book discussing both sides of the debate as well as discussing how they are not mutually exclusive ideas.

I used to pick at my fingers a lot. It was gross and unhealthy and really, really painful. I still have some weird little ridges in my fingers.

@Oxymoron: For a second there, I thought you meant you used to drink cigars and I couldn’t figure out how the hell you could do that…

@KatawaGrey – That would have been quite the statement, LOL.

I stopped biting my fingernails during my research days. I was so busy typing @#$%% grant applications that I didn’t have time to bite them. Then I stopped wanting to. :-)
