Why doesn't my computer recognize my SD card?

When I put my SD card in the slot, nothing happens. The green light doesn’t even come on. It was working fine this morning, and then, when I removed the card, I heard a noise like I disconnected some software, and it hasn’t worked since. The card isn’t locked. How do I resolve this?

Does the card still work when it is plugged into your camera (or whatever it is from)? Have you tried restarting your computer?

@buckyboy28 Yes, it still works when it is in the camera. I restarted my computer twice and it didn’t help.

Do you have a wire to hook up your camera to your computer? In a pinch that would work. I’m not sure what would cause your SD slot to stop working.
