What is the difference between a primary and a caucus?

A Primary is when people use voting machines to vote. A Caucus is more complicated. People gather in rooms and are divided up by whom they support. If there’s not at least 15% support for a particular candidate, those voters have the option of throwing their support to any of the other candidates.

a primary is an open vote for republicans and democratics alike. A caucus is only for either registered democrats or registered republicans
