What can you fix with a hammer and duct tape?

Asked by Fred931 (9434points) March 3rd, 2010

I thought this would be a very interesting topic to discuss because of how often the two are selected as the “miracle tools” of the world. How do you use your not-so-dynamic duo repair kit in life? Do you use it where common sense should have kicked in a long time ago?

Everything. Might not work or last. But you can “fix” it.

12 year old kids who whine and believe that they possess all the knowledge obtainable in this world…I would tie them up with duct tape and then hammer their computer and xbox or whatever they use to gloat to pieces.

Remember the old saying: “When your only tool is a hammer, every proplem looks like a nail”. First step, I would trade the roll of duct tape for a set of screwdrivers or a McGyver tool.

Duct tape is like the Force. It has a light side and a dark side, and binds the Universe together.

The hammer, not so much. But I figure it couldn’t hurt.

A role of duct tape should be mandantory for each automobile using the public highways. i have temporarily “fixed” many car leaking radiator hoses. just enough for them to make it to the next exit or gas station. duct tape has so many uses. a hammer is perfect for forcing rusty lug nuts off a flat tire.

My emergency car kit is a roll of duct tape, hammer, roll of wire, rope, several pairs of locking pliers and an emergency blanket.

I fixed the gate latch by hammering in the screws that had pulled out, and then wrapping it all up with duct tape.

Almost anything, except people.

CMaz's avatar

Oh, it fixes people just fine.

At least that is what I have heard. ;-)

I don’t know about fixing things, but you can make colored duct tape into some awesome stuff.
