I’m trying to find a safe place to play poker, bet and win real money, do you know any websites?

Just be aware that “safe place” when it comes to online poker is using a very liberal definition of safe. It’s possible for people to create 9 accounts and have you be the 10th seat in the room. You think you’re playing against 9 other people, when in fact you’re playing a hacker, who has used sophisticated techniques to basically con you out of your money. Poker sites use tools to try to prevent this, but hackers have ways of getting around those too I believe.

I don’t know how common they are, but I know they exist. My advice is to stick to the low stakes games just to be on the safe-side.

@polycinco No. PayPal has a policy of not dealing with gambling sites.

I play poker as my sole source of income, and I play at Full Tilt Poker and Pokerstars. I consider both to be very safe. Each site has recently offered increased security to players accounts.

To access my account requires my password + a random security code that is generated every 30 seconds from an app on my G1 Google phone.

Yes, it is possible for someone to be playing on multiple accounts at once; however, I would argue that the advantage to be gained from this activity is small in comparison to the advantage that established “grinders” have over new players because of their fundamental understanding of mathematics, statistics, and the game in general.

The sharks are the one’s you need to worry about, not the hackers. ’

There was a scandal involving a “superuser” account at Absolute Poker a while back – in which one individual who had access to the Poker Sites servers was able to see other players cards. Mind you – this was happening at nosebleed stakes – were talking hundreds of thousands of dollars. In my opinion, being concerned with hackers should not be your priority.

Your priority should be to improve your skill and knowledge of mathematics and poker in general – and to steer clear of the sharks – and no, I won’t reveal my screen name

:)

gl to you.
