Does coffee consumption affect cholesterol?

I imagine creme would have an effect, depending on how much you use. That in addition to any weight gain from the tons of sugar people tend to put in their coffee.

I have read it has a negative effect on HDL.

Yes, can raise your blood cholesterol (total and bad cholesterol) and lower HDL cholesterol; however it depends on how much and what type of coffee you drink.
