General Question

I need some suggestions for a good song to wake up to. Anyone?

Asked by mulligrubs (22points) March 7th, 2010

I need to replace my morning alarm song and I’m a bit stuck for ideas. It’s currently Moonlight Kiss by Raul Malo but it’s becoming annoying and I actually love that song.

I prefer songs that makes me want to dance right out of bed and aren’t too loud or fast. For example: before Moonlight Kiss I had Chuck Berry singing the rather iconic Never Can Tell, before that it was Amphetamine Logic by Sisters of Mercy.

So yeah, let’s see what you guys can come up with. Or maybe you’d just like to share what is currently waking you up in the morning?

@anartist I’m pretty sure it’s the Everly Brothers actually.

How about “Walkin’ on Sunshine”?

Omg! Such a good pick with that Chuck Berry song. It’s one of my all time favorites. I dance every single time, lol. I suggest the President’s theme song “Hail to the chief” no, but seriously. It also makes me dance and makes me want to conduct an orchestra. The Twist by Chubby Checker?

Owl City. Pick a song at random, odds are nine to one it’s a great song to wake up to with a happy energetic sugary flying start.

Mine is Lungs and Livers from Repo! The Genetic Opera. It’s short so it plays over and over again, for maximum annoyance.

@FutureMemory: “Long Tall Sally” will make you want to stay in bed and not get up.

Ditto “Ride, Sally, Ride” by Lou Reed.

I would pick Jump by Van Halen or HEAVY METAL!!! that would wake you up!!

This one by Ian Matthews. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe it was featured in “Little Darlings”, a movie made in 1980 (?).
