Is there something wrong with my computer?

Asked by XOIIO (18328points) March 7th, 2010

Every now and then 15 minutes or so, it’s kind of random every icon on the desktop and taskbar goes to a white piece of paper then flashes back. Is it some sort of refresh? I have windows 7.

Have you installed any new programs? Changed any settings? If I tell my comp to begin opening a particular file type (say .avi files) with a new program, my desktop icons flash for a sec, but then go back to normal. This only happens once per program change though.

I havent done much for a while, although some programs are activly running, might that do it?

I’m really not sure, but Nortan ran a while ago and got rid of any trojan horses there were 2.

Anyway everything else is fine, I think it’s probably just a… WTF? it just did it twice quickly now… I don’t know what now.

It’s possible Norton missed something (assuming it is malware causing the issue). Download these and see what they come up with.

Malwarebytes

Eset online scanner

I’ll try to get to that, but the internet I am picking up is too slow to download much.

Only the first one is a download, and only 5mb at that. The 2nd is an online scan.

I guess I should have seen the word online lol

The online one is too slow still, I’ll wait to go to an internet cafe.
