Has anyone ever taken the Amtrack from Emeryville to Vancouver? If so, any cool places we need to check out on the way?

We are looking to stop in Coos Bay, Portland, Seattle and then on to land in Vancouver.

Does anyone have suggestions of cool places to visit? Also was a passport necessary because of traveling to Canada?

I took a train from Portland to Vancouver when I was in college, but that was a long time ago and we didn’t stop along the way but it is a wonderful train ride, a very scenic route. And Vancouver is a beautiful city. I remember the Gaslight District was nice. Enjoy. And I think maybe you do need a passport to travel to Canada now, but I’m not sure.
