Hopefully none. It’s bad enough we have insurance for cars and health. Now this? What is this world coming to?

Do you rent or own? I’m not even sure anyone would do replacement value on an ipod; however, you could check with your insurance agent (automobile, homeowner, rental) and see if a separate rider is available, it will be an additional cost.

Not sure it’s available, though.

There are always the standard warranty packages you can buy with them at stores like Best Buy, but an iPod Touch really isn’t big enough of an item to make insurance worthwhile. Don’t worry about the hassle and just be careful with it.

I bought Butt Dial Insurance Protection; Toilet Dropping Insurance Protection; Running With The Bulls Nimrod Protection and Gee I Shouldn’t Have Used This as a Sex Toy Protection all for about nothing but the cost of common sense.

Homeowners or renters insurance cover personal effects.
If you lose an iPod, it’s really not worth filing a claim. It’ll cost you more time and money (if you have any sort of deductible) to go through insurance.
It’s more economical to pony up for another device.
Apple care doesn’t cover theft if I recall correctly.

I’m with Captain_Fantasy on this. I have renters insurance that is about 10 bucks a month that covers 50K in losses. But the deductible is 500 dollars so I would lose money to have it replaced. But it is well it to have for everything else in the house.

www.safeware.com can insure pretty much any electronic device and covers literally anything. Last I checked the rates were reasonable too.
