Can someone please explain intervals to me?

Asked by rentluva5256 (555points) March 12th, 2010

I get the basic intervals (major and perfect), but I don’t understand the difference between diminished and minor. They sound the same to me. HELP!

The interval between two notes is the distance between the two pitches – in other words, how much higher or lower one note is than the other

The minor interval is always a half-step smaller than the major interval. . . diminished is an interval that is a half-step smaller than a perfect or a minor interval.
