Dish Network remote won't change AV inputs.

Asked by kyle94481 (214points) March 14th, 2010

Well, I successfully programmed my Dish Network Remote (A black one, not one of those fancy silver ones with all the pretty buttons) onto my new Vizio TV. It works great, as far as changing channels and changing volume, etc. The only problem I have run into is that when I press the Tv / Video button on the top left hand corner (Which switched AVs on my other TV), it doesn’t change the input but instead it mutes the TV. My question is, how can I change the programming, or whatever it may be, to the point where I can change the input? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Which remote are you using exactly? Giving us the make & model number would be of great help.

Hello, it is common for our remotes to not have complete control over all of the functions that your factory remote would have. On Vizio TV’s, the code that I’ve found carries the most functions is 505. Go ahead and try this link there will be a complete list of codes for you to try.
