Do you believe in stones that can aid healing?

Asked by jazmina88 (11652points) March 17th, 2010

crystals of all sorts, can be used for healing. I can feel rocks pulsate. Bloodstone, there are thousands of stones. Do you think stones could aid in your physical, emotional or spiritual health?

If you believe in them, i suppose it would as a placebo.

PS : Warm stones would be great for stomachs I think

I think at best they might have a placebo effect as @frigate1985 stated. Generally speaking though I think they have as much healing power as any other inanimate object – zero.

Sure. I can go to the hospital and throw stones at everyone in the waiting room who’s ahead of me. Then I get treated more quickly.

Who knows? It very well could be just the slight pressure or heat that affect nerves in the body. Like the way accupressure works, or it could just be in the persons head.

I’m not getting into another one of these discussions today, so I’ll just say no.

Crystals have a lot of potential energy depends on how you use them. I use salt to cleanse myself of bad mojo and have a salt lamp that you would have to pry out of my cold dead fingers to get from me.

I’ve got two stones that provide some sexual healing.

Yes, Kidney stones. When expelled.

My health insurance plan doesn’t cover expenses for healing stones.

Oy vey.

Getting stoned is another story. Then I would have to say YES!

Here’s the source:

Hamlet:

There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

Hamlet Act 1, scene 5, 159–167

Warm stones were traditionally used to heat sheets in bedrooms (in homes) with no central heating. So were baked potatoes.

@gailcalled Ah, there are so many things betwixt heaven and earth of which only the poets have dreamed!” Friedrich Nietzsche quote True Shakespheare was born first but he was known to plagiarize a thing or two, so who knows who was the original creator.

No. But I do think that you can imagine they do, and then your imagining might make a difference.

I have done some real healing with stones, not my imagination. I am not trained in reiki, but it is one of my gifts.

cool stones ease inflammation like ice.

So sorry I have missed these discussions before. I see you guys are kinda burnt.

A placebo would be one of those plastic rocks with a place for a hidden key.
