Didn't get into Navy cause of eye sight, having lasik and try to get in Army, will Army know I applied to Navy?

Asked by schoollife (6points) March 20th, 2010

Scored high on ASVAB and complete medical exam. Couldn’t get into Navy cause my eye sight is above -8.00. Asked for waiver, and produced docs from eye doc saying my eyes can be corrected to 20/20 with Lasik. They still said no. I am getting Lasik and going to wait 3 months to apply to Army. Will Army be able to find out about my Navy experience. Will I get in trouble if I don’t tell the Army I had Lasik.

My Army vet husband says, “If you don’t tell them, that’s falsifying a government document which is a felony. If you manage to get in successfully without telling them, you also run the risk of unpleasant things happening, like your eyeball exploding at altitude, which is why the Army would want to know something like that.”

More info.

When I went into the Navy, they knew all about the kerfluffle I had with the Army a couple of years prior, so I would say yes, they will know about your attempt at joining the Navy.
