Who invented the burrito?

Some say its Mexican, some say it’s not. I’ve never had or even seen a burrito in Mexico but who knows, maybe it’s from a small town in the middle of no where. I’ve also heard its a tejano dish. So what do you think? Mexican or not? Tejano or not? American maybe?? Any other ideas?
