LONDONERS is Saint John's Wood a 'high profile' area to live?

Asked by TheOnlyException (2182points) March 29th, 2010

Someone I know is moving there. It looks pretty nice from what I’ve gathered online. I’ll be visiting them a whole lot.
Just curious about the area itself. Is it expensive? Good neighbourhoods? Anyone live there/been there, as personal experiences from you lovely people seem a lot more reliable than Wikipedia…
I know Regent’s Park is in the area.
Just anything you can tell me about it, even how clean the streets are or arent… anything! Thanks.

It is pretty near to the famous Abbey Road Studios (= And the last time I went there , I thought it was a really clean place with a really peaceful environment ! People are really nice and friendly there , seems like a really nice neighbourhood to live in (=

It is both nice and expensive – well, rent is more expensive than where I live anyway. In terms of prices of stuff, it’s no more expensive than the rest of London.

it does have a high number of celebrity residents, and the location is pleasant. abbey road studios are world-renowned and attract a lot of tourism. its considered zone 1 or 2 i think, so that means it is a pretty pricey area to live in. great place to visit though, and great links into the city :)

from Rolling Stones song Play With Fire:

Your mother she’s an heiress. owns a block in Saint John’s Wood
And your father’d be there with her
If he only could
But don’t play with me ‘cause you’re playing with fire

Your old man took her diamonds and tiaras by the score
Now she gets her kicks in Stepney
Not in Knightsbridge anymore
So don’t play with me ‘cause you’re playing with fire

Is St Johns Wood part of Knightsbridge or another tony area?

And where is Sloane Park, home of the Sloane Rangers?
