“Drink recipes may vary, but most bubble teas contain a tea base mixed with fruit (or fruit syrup) and/or milk and also contains tapioca balls.”

No thanks.

Edit: I’m saying no thanks because of the milk, It does sound good, I’ll just get it without milk, but I have never seen or heard of this stuff so I will not have it any time soon.

Bubble tea is simply one of the greatest things since sliced bread.

Hmm – I guess I should explain it…

Bubble tea: You start with Black Tea or Green Tea (depending on the flavor you want)

My fave is plain. So Just Green or Black tea with milk and Tapioca pearls, known as Boba.

It is called bubble tea because of the mixing procedure. When you shake the tea in a bar shaker, with ice inside, you get bubble forming when you pour it into the cup. Bubbles means its been mixed well.

There are many different flavors, and it is usually made by tea plus fruit extract/jam, milk, and tapioca pearls, or fruit jelly known as nata de coco.

My fave flavors are: Plain, taro, almond, mango, coconut.

Bubble tea can also come without milk. There, my favorite is litchee tea.

It was a big fad in Taiwan, and made it across to the US.

Are there anyone who tried it and didn’t like it? For those that have not tried – I suggest you do try it for once!

I think it’s kinda cool. I have to be in the mood for it though, because it’s super sweet and you have to like the texture. I’m also fascinated by people who hang out at bubble tea places – there are a bunch around here and they’re usually packed. I sometimes think it would be cool to just hang out there for awhile to figure out what it’s all about.

I lurve the hell out of bubble tea!

It’s quite good, though the texture can take a minute to get used to. No cream in mine, please, just tapioca and tea.

You’re talking about boba, and I love it. Strawberry is my favorite.

I’m not a big fan, but every once and awhile a honeydew melon flavored bubble tea is pretty nice.

Best drink of all time ever. Every flavor.

I am a huge fan of bubble tea and bubble shakes. I buy them about twice a week and travel 20 kms to get one!

Mixing watermelon flavour with something like strawberry flavour is delicious (milky with crushed ice please). Mmmmm. I need to get a bubble shake right now!!

Personally, I’m not a fan of it; I’m a major tea lover but I prefer pure, loose-leaf tea, and I almost always drink it unsweetened. I tend not to like sweet things, and bubble tea is always way too sweet for me. And I also can’t get into the texture of the tapioca balls; that part of it is just too weird.

But…to each his own! I often love how the world we live in is so diverse that there are so many seemingly bizarre things out there.

Some of what I love, other people find outright bizarre. For example, I make unsweetened cocoa, and put cayenne pepper in it, and I have yet to meet someone who enjoys this as much as I do.
