Good movie suggestions for a week of nothing to do with my boyfriend?

Asked by Kismet (723points) April 1st, 2010

Next week I’m taking care of my brother and sister at home while my parents are away.
My boyfriend is very kindly helping me take care of them during this time, but they are old enough so we don’t have to keep an eye on them every second of the day, just the occasional check up.
Because of this extended amount of time to do nothing but sit around, I was curious if any of you had good movie suggestions.

I have Netflix, which I often use the instant queue, so if you have movie suggestions off there, that’d be great!

We enjoy Science Fiction, Action/Adventure, Anime, Comedy, and Fantasy movies. The occasional decent horror movie as well.

Got some good suggestions?

I watched two good movies recently on Netflix’s Instant Queue called Dare and The Village Barbershop. Both were very good, worth watching in my opinion.

If you like Science Fiction, and you have a week to kill, watch the entire Firefly and Battlestar Galactica series.

@Rarebear Actually, I forgot about the Firefly series! That is a great suggestion because I recently watched the movie, which was fantastic and has made me rather curious.

What about some Monty Python movies? They are definitely…different. For an action film, I would recommend V for Vendetta

For a scary one, 30 Days of Night.

The Prestige, Domino, V for Vendetta, Empire Records, I Love You Man, Zoolander, The Experiment, The Mist

@Violet Good ones!

I’ll add: Michael Clayton, Blood Diamond, and Shaun of the Dead
