What language are these lyrics in?

Asked by MrsDufresne (3554points) April 12th, 2010

The song is called Elepant by Spiral System

I have typed out the lyrics as I hear them phonetically;
(which are also, hilarious)

“Ah gee puma nah la doggie doo
Ela monkey doorway
Ah gee puma nah la doggie doo
Ah gee puma nah la doggie doo
Ela monkey doorway
Hoo rack ka my oh
Chang chang ooh

Chang chang chang chang chang

Sangi sil opsee a on nooksie toysta
Ah gee puma nah la doggie doo
Sangi sil opsee a on nooksie toysta
Ah gee puma nah la doggie doo

Chang chang chang chang chang
Chang chang chang chang chang
Chang chang chang chang chang

Ah gee puma nah la doggie doo
Ela monkey doorway
Ah gee puma nah la doggie doo
Ah gee puma nah la doggie doo
Ela monkey doorway
Hoo rack ky my oh
aah ooh”

I’m pretty sure that either gibberish or Klingon.

Ha ha… it’s definitely not Klingon.

Biblical Babel. I’m sure of it.

Klingon is a made up language. What you’ve written sound made up, so I’m going with Klingon, too.

@breedmitch

English is a made-up language, too. All languages are made up. It’s not Klingon.

If that is any kind of language, I am a Klingon. <cough> K’plah! <cough>... had something stuck in my throat there.

Nothing has made me laugh this hard all week.
Song is lovely, transcript is brilliant.
I do not know what that language is.
The “chang chang” makes me thing something Asian but it is
not Bahasa Indonesia so I am lost. Oh la la.

Mairzy doats and dozy doats and little labmsy divy…

@CyanoticWasp You know that’s not what it says in the song right?

you already asked this question on another site. http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/90263 and this was the answer:

“Lottie Child moves erratically through time and space, making random stops connecting an array of sentiments, senses, situations and sounds. She spins her soft sweet melodies into an intricate web singing in English, Portuguese, Finnish and Tibetan which give her a fresh distinctive sound that she delivers in an intimate and seductive performance.”

Looks like Klingon, as that isn’t real words, it’s just made up stuff for the children or the immature adults.

@iam2smart99037 True, true. I just thought I might receive more information, if I asked here as well.

Hi

A native Finnish speaking person here. This part “Sangi sil opsee a on nooksie toysta” is not gibberish when vocalized by the singer. She clearly says in Finnish “in bed 11 children there are” which is written in Finnish “sängyssä lapsia on yksitoista”. I am 100% sure about this. It is very unlikely that someone would randomly manage to create such a clear Finnish verse.

@mursupallero – Cool! Thanks!
