Do your white socks become left and right after you've worn them a few times?

Asked by Morgan1 (203points) April 15th, 2010

After I wear white socks a few times they develop corresponding wear marks to match my feet, thus being designated as L or R. Am I the only one that can only wear them that way forever after that?

All my socks are lefties.

Kinda yes. But in my case, my socks seem to curve a certain way after I’ve worn them, I’m not sure if that is the same phenomenon you are talking about though

Nooo…I’ve never heard of this.

I think OCD is a good tag ;)

Nope, I wear several pairs of socks a day, so they need a while before they get those marks.

Why is this a question only about white socks? Do darker colored socks magically not get corresponding wear marks?

@Sarcasm White socks can’t jump.

@janbb Malcolm Gladwell’s What the Dog Saw? I have fine on that one at the library…

Doesn’t washing the socks (of any hue) knock them back into shape? Mine all end up just socks, not foot specific!
