Why does toothpaste for sensitive teeth say to use it for only a month?

I’ve used two different kinds in the past year and they both instruct to not use more than 30 days (or as instructed by a dentist). When I stop using them, my teeth get sensitive again, so what is it about this toothpaste that I shouldn’t use it for more than a month?
